Tohru Honda (徹ホンダ tōru honda ) is the main character in Fruits Basket.
Personality[]
Tohru is a bit unintelligent in the first part of the series, but as the series progresses she grows more and more mature. Tohru is quite cheerful, and happy. But there are also times when she is sad. Tohru is kind and compassionate, reaching out to those who need her (like Rin.)
Tohru is an extremely loyal friend, and values friendship almost morethen anything. She loves Kyo Sohma, and "loves" her two best friends, Arisa Uotani and Saki Hanajima.
Appearance[]
Tohru has long, dark brown hair and brown eyes. She is normally seen with violet bows in her hair, though when she was younger she wore pom-poms in her hair instead of ribbon

History[]
When Tohru was very young, her mother died in a car crash. Before that, though, she and her mother were quite close. Her father had died when Tohru was about 3 years old, and during that time her mother would not talk to her. When her mother left, Tohru patiently waited for her, welcoming her when she came back. Tohru has a memory of being lost and a young boy, later turning out to be Yuki Sohma.

After Tohru's mother died, Tohru was living in a tent. It was there where Yuki� and Shigure� found her, and took her in.
